Liberty MO! We are having, not one, but TWO yummy
buffets (appetizers at 8:00, desserts at 11:00), an

Young Friends of Union Station’s
all-new signature event...
2007 -
2008's
hottest New Year's Eve celebration was
at Union Station.
On
the eve of December 31st, Kansas City's own
historical
Union Station
took on an upscale, cocktail club
atmosphere for one magical night. As the
year 2007 whirled into a joyous 2008, new
acquaintances were established, old friends
revisited, and love was in the air.
Historical and majestic, Union Station made the
perfect backdrop to the newest generation of
Kansas City New Year's Eve party goers.
Kansas City party people enjoyed a "drink and graze" complimentary
appetizer buffet and mingled with friends.
The highlight of the night was when Kansas City's hottest party
band,
The KC All Stars got
the party started, oh, and they also put
your first three drinks on the house...
Door prizes were awarded throughout the
night, including two tickets to any
Southwest Airlines destination and a special Tivol
gift with a four-figure price tag. When the
clock struck Midnight, guests were blown
away as the New Year came in along with a
complementary champagne toast and a huge
blowout.
An
Advisory Board of 25 dedicated community
volunteers organized this party with a
purpose; all proceeds from the event benefited
the general operating fund for Union Station
Kansas City. Additional leadership and
volunteer opportunities are available with
the Young Friends of Union Station
throughout the year in the way of Committees
for Event Planning, and support of the
organization itself. |

year’s celebration featured five bands, four
entertainment areas, 20,000 balloons unleashed at the
stroke of midnight, and an indoor laser light show.
Live entertainment included The Zeros, a Kansas City
80's tribute band and most notably an over-the-top
dueling piano act called "Roll Over Beethoven".
The dueling piano guys were amazing! They will
be headlining the 2008 - 2009 New Year's Eve party at
Union Station.

Tickets are now
on sale for the season’s hottest celebration, hosted by Union
Station Kansas City.
“Next Stop: 2009″ starts at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Dec.
31, 2008, and ends in the New Year! This party is a far cry
from the “family-friendly” affairs of New Year’s past. “Next
Stop” is the City’s most chic party with a purpose: a
Union Station Fundraiser, created exclusively for guests 21
and older.
For this swank
special event, Union Station will take on an upscale club
atmosphere, with live music all night. Warming up the
night will be Kansas City's hottest
Dueling Pianos! Then
Superfly, Kansas City's newest Funk / Party band will keep
you dancing until you drop! “Next Stop” has two
admission levels, with early bird pricing specials in effect
from Oct. 15 to Dec. 17. Early Bird General Admission, $75 per
person, features party favors, three drink coupons and
delicious appetizers. Early Bird Helzberg Diamonds VIP
admission is $110 per person and offers the luxury of early
check-in, premium party favors, three drink coupons, deluxe
appetizers, no waiting at the VIP bar, reserved Helzberg
Diamonds VIP Room with limited seating, a Helzberg Diamonds
gift bag and more.
Exclusive door
prizes provided by Helzberg Diamonds and Southwest Airlines
will be awarded throughout the night, and after dancing the
night away to fabulous live music, everyone will welcome the
New Year in style with a complimentary champagne toast at
midnight. This stylish party is expected to sell out, so
tickets should be purchased in advance. Tickets purchased Dec.
18 - Dec. 31 are $100 for general admission and $135 for
Helzberg Diamonds VIP admission.
